Tech Savvy Meadows
Giving back in Mauritius
For the sixth successive year, EIS
Meadows has organised the Tech
Fair showcasing the school’s highly
successful Information Technology and
Robotics program. Over 200 students
from Grades 7-12 participated
It has been another phenomenal year
for EIS Meadows’ annual Service Trip to
Mauritius. A total of 39 Grade 12 students
and four staff set out to the island with
a mission: to work on two projects -
Le Providence school and Teddy Bear
Nursery, and create a safe and fun
learning environment for underprivileged
children. EIS Meadows have helped
build and develop Le Providence school
over the past seven years. Thanks to
the funds raised, the school has clean
water, a safe and colourful environment
and plenty of areas for children to play in.
Here’s a look at what our students did
over a period of six days:
• Paint two classrooms with murals
• Concrete the existing fence into the
ground (to stop the people stealing the
water from the tank)
in this year’s tech extravaganza,
including parents, staff and the wider
community. The event showcased
exceptional talents and gave students
an opportunity to demonstrate their
knowledge and skills in technology.
Projects included demonstrating the
use of sensors to activate a fountain,
creating models, programming robots,
games and applications.
Keep up the great work!
• Paint the interior of the school
• Fund and build a concrete floor
outside for the new shelter
• Cut down a very large tree to create
an extra playing area
• Re-paint the doll’s house and shop
• Re-paint the cupboards, gates and
outside panels
Way to go DREAM TEAM!
