EMIRATES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS
Meet the Group's 'oldies' - Emirates International Schools
Q: Tell our readers about the highlight of your career at EIS?
Rawda Ali
P/J Teacher of Islamic Studies
EIS - Jumeirah (22 years)
It has been an exciting experience to
teach in an international school with
different nationalities coming from
different backgrounds and cultures.
Teaching non-native speakers is a
rewarding experience. I first started
teaching IPC and then moved on to the
PYP programme, which gave me a lot of
experience and a chance to be exposed
to an international approach to teaching
and learning.
Madhavan Unni
Store keeper
EIS - Jumeirah (14 years)
The most rewarding aspect of my job
is the sense of satisfaction that I get
by arranging items on stock, and on
the distribution of the same when
there is demand. My aim is to keep
an equilibrium between demand and
supply. I’m motivated by working
under the banner of one of the greatest
companies in the UAE and the region -
the Al Habtoor Group.
Hanan Khalaf
Arabic B Coordinator
EIS - Meadows (18 years)
Working with students from different parts of the world
and introducing them to Arabic has always been the fuel of
my career. I’ve had the privilege of working with so many
different nationalities and cultures. The beauty of EIS is that it
represents pretty much what Dubai is all about: diversity. My
motivation is my belief in the Arabic language and its value in
our lives today and in the future. Teaching Arabic to non-Arabs
involves giving a generation an insight into Arab culture and
values. The responsibility motivates me. I am also motivated
by results. Seeing progress with my students and spreading
the Arabic language motivates me to continue giving my best
in my role as an Arabic Teacher for non-Arabic speakers.
Marcos Fernandez
Cashier / Accountant
EIS - Meadows (22 years)
The highlight of my career would be the
moment I got a chance to work with the
EIS Finance Department. I have learnt
a great deal and got an opportunity to
work and interact with a diverse group
of people at EIS. I’m motivated by the
friendly work atmosphere at EIS, which
helps me keep a positive attitude and
be optimistic about the challenges
coming my way.
