Inspired by a powerful song created
by 10-11 year old schoolgirls and
the overall global need for improved
education possibilities for girls,
Finnish Business Council (FBC)
initiated a charity project together
with EIS-Jumeirah music teachers
and Fatiniza, a globally known music
artist.
EIS-Jumeirah held its annual Pink
Week to raise money and awareness
for Breast Cancer from October 26-
30, 2014. This year the activities were
student led under the leadership
of Prarthana Kanagaratnam and
Roshni Parmar from Grade 13. With
support from ‘Helping Hands’, one of
the schools service learning groups,
the event was a great success and
embodied the EIS-Jumeirah spirit of
charity, generosity and responsibility,
raising AED 11,865.
Thanks to all the students, parents
and teachers who supported and
contributed to this cause!
The team embarked on a mission to
create an awareness campaign and
raise funds to increase equal and
undisturbed education for girls around
the world through music. The project,
called Sisters. Now is now a Social
Responsibility Initiative for FBC.
Students from EIS-Jumeirah’s after
school music group, Divalicious, sang
‘Sisters’, a sincere and powerful song,
both in its message and melody.
The girls share a vision of equality,
togetherness and helping others. The
song inspires and is a beautiful vehicle
to bring awareness to the fact that
so many girls do not have access to
education around the world and how
many are threatened just for the mere
reason of wanting to be educated.
