The Chairman of the Al Habtoor
Group personally handed over the first
‘Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Lifetime
Achievement Award’ to Professor
Rafia Obaid Ghubash, Founder of
the Women's Museum, UAE, at the
Emirates Airline Festival of Literature
on March 7, 2014.
Professor Ghubash was awarded
for her work in raising the profile of
Emirati women and their role in UAE
history.
The Chairman said, "It is my honour
to present this award to Professor
Ghubash, who works tirelessly to
raise the profile of women in our
country. She has single-handedly
opened the Women's Museum - a
spectacular museum that showcases
women throughout our history
including renowned Emirati poet
Ousha bint Khalifa bin Al Suwaidi.
Professor Ghubash is a role model for
all women, not just Emirati women.”
