Emirates International Schools
The EIS - Jumeirah campus hosted a
student fundraiser with the school’s
administration team on October 29,
2015. The proceeds went to support a
session of chemotherapy for a cancer
patient here in the UAE.
Bravo to our Year 12 students from EIS-
Meadows who organized a walkathon
to raise awareness and funds for
breast cancer research throughout the
community on October 30, 2015. EIS
Meadows celebrated the walkathon’s
10th anniversary and marked this event
We spoke to Janine Badawy, Executive
Assistant to the Director of Schools
on why she believes it’s important to
spread awareness on breast cancer
and preventive care. “Better now than
sorry. Early discovery and detection
of the breast cancer by doing the
regular testing has saved and will
save thousands of lives. Never take
life for granted, don’t take the risk
and have regular check-ups,” Janine
said.
EIS-Jumeirah hosts
pink T-shirts fundraiser
Breast Cancer Walkathon
at EIS-Meadows
Pink T-shirts were bought by all members of the admin team as part of the fundraising initiative
as an occasion dedicated to inspire
and educate our local community
about the perils of breast cancer.
In addition to the walkathon there
were a variety of activities such as
face and nail painting and old school
games, including musical chairs which
turned into a fun competition between
students and teachers. All proceeds
made on the day went towards the UAE
Red Crescent, who have established
an account to facilitate donations to
combat breast cancer.
