The famous Imperial
Torte served at Café
Imperial Wien
The irresistible confection has been
lovingly crafted at the Imperial Hotel
for decades. Legend has it that a
kitchen apprentice created the cake
in honour of Emperor Franz Joseph I
on the occasion of the Hotel Imperial’s
opening in 1873.
Selected ingredients of highest quality
give the Imperial Torte its distinctive
aroma - cacao cream is layered
between delicate wafers of almond
pastry and then covered in fine
marzipan and a rich glaze of chocolate.
A mouthwatering and must-try treat!
