“In the making, we discovered that
our team had five artists: Picasso, Da
Vinci, Berthe Morisot, Frida Kahlo and
Michelangelo in each one of us. In
Picasso (Jonathan) we saw that his work is
unhurried, pensive and peculiarly striking.
In Da Vinci (Anoop) we witnessed that his
touch was so richly worked, glazing and
dense. Vibrant coloring and visual clarity
was what we could learn from Berthe's
(Josephine) involvement. Frida's (Onie)
touch on the canvas will definitely enable
the eyes to come to rest there for hours
together. And Michelangelo (Pavanan)
would mesmerize the viewer with
functional use of light in his strokes.”
The thought behind the artwork:
The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects
it to change; we the realist - adjusts the sails. Boats represents
our career journey as moving in one direction supporting each
other towards reaching a common goal set by the vision of
the Chairman. The darker colour of the sky represents the
hardships that we have overcome through tirelessness and
being steady in our approach. The brighter colour represents
the future which we are sailing towards with consistency of our
performance. The reflection represents our achievements and
successes and reflects how we developed professionalism,
maturity, confidence and self-esteem, and how we moulded
our individual selves.
Participants:
