WHAT ARE CARCINOGENS?
A carcinogen is a chemical which
is capable of causing cancer.
Carcinogens can aggrevate tumours
or other types of cancers. They enter
a body through inhalation (of asbestos
fiber and cigarette smoke), ingestion
(of heavy metals and pesticides, for
example), and absorption (of dyes and
hydrocarbons) through skin.
