Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi
First of all,
it is a pleasure for me to be a part of the Al Habtoor Group, which
inspires its staff with all the meanings of devotion and dedication to work, stimulating
them to achieve more success. All my experience - 18 years in government work,
and more than 10 years in voluntary work - is nothing compared to the hours or
even minutes I spend at the Al Habtoor Group.
The Al Habtoor Group is one of the leading and established companies contributing
to the development of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) economy. It is a great
destination for many Emiratis who seek to hone their talents, develop their potential,
and gain practical experience that would help them achieve leading roles in life.
At the Community Relations department at the Al Habtoor Group, we work as a
team to contribute to the development of the local and international community
through a series of community initiatives, and the participation in national occasions
and events. We also aim at strengthening the links between Al Habtoor Group and
community organisations.
Also, as Chairman of the Board at Al Farooq Omar Ibn Al Khattab Mosque and
Centre - one of Mr Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor’s community initiatives - we work
as a team to implement a clear strategic vision: “Strong faith, useful knowledge,
inter-cultural communication”. Through the mosque, we aim at promoting cultural
interaction and communication in a moderate and tolerant way. The mosque is a
cultural beacon and an Islamic centre for humanitarian dialogue in Dubai.
On January 21, 2013, the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation was launched
to develop and improve human societies in need in the UAE; and to provide relief
and assistance to communities around the world affected by natural disasters and
social calamities. It also aims at improving education and sports, and promoting
inter-cultural communication. As General Secretary of the Board of Trustees and
Director of the Foundation, I started, with the help of the members of the Board
of Trustees and the management team, the process of implementing Mr Khalaf
Ahmad Al Habtoor’s vision in the field of humanitarian work.
