It’s our 45th anniversary!
Over 600 VIP guests joined in
the celebrations on the site of the
Metropolitan Hotel – the hotel which
kick started the Group’s entry into
the hospitality industry in 1979.
The evening started with a video,
The ‘Habtoorian’ Dream, which
highlighted the diverse range of
career opportunities available across
the Group – including hospitality,
automotive, real estate, education and
publishing. It was followed by a moving
speech by the Chairman reminiscing
on the past 45 years of success, and
focusing on what’s required to arm
the Group for future success. “It is not
time to sit-back and relax. We need
to keep our energy and continue to

After his speech, the MC for the night,
Tom Urquhart, conducted a candid on-
stage live interview with the Chairman.
The gala programme concluded with
a live ‘choir’ performance from our
employees across all choreographed
specifically for the Group by British
musical director, Steve Sidwell. Our
Chairman said, “It was a very special
moment to see staff perform on stage.
It was a diverse mix of employees from
all our units. I was very proud to see
them perform together as one.” (Click

The evening highlighted the strength
and diversity of the Group, as well as
showcased great team spirit.
Today, like every day for the last 45
years, we as ‘Habtoorians’ are proud
to be part of the success of one of the
region’s largest conglomerates! Now
we are ready to take on the world!
