American University in Cairo
(AUC) on June 14, 2014. The

Annual Commencement
Ceremony was held at the ‘Khalaf
Ahmad Al Habtoor Football and
Track Stadium’ - sponsored by
the Chairman in 2010.
In his keynote speech, Khalaf
Ahmad Al Habtoor urged the
graduates to take an active role in
their country’s future, telling them
they are
‘
partners
’
in Egypt’s
destiny. “Your education has
not finished, it just started and it
will carry through your life. You
have a long way to go… Your
generation has learned a lot from
the turbulences that stormed
Egypt in the past 3 years and now
the earth has settled. Let us put
our hands together and build this
country.”

his best-selling autobiography ‘Khalaf
Ahmad Al Habtoor: The Autobiography’
in Hungary. The candid account of the Al
Habtoor Group Chairman’s life journey
to become one of the most successful
and respected businessmen in the
Gulf region, has already hit multiple
best-sellers lists across the GCC. The
Autobiography, which took more than
two years to write, is now available in
three languages: Arabic, English and
Hungarian. The launch took place at
Lotz Hall in the Paris Department Store

Chairman
receives
Honorary
Doctorate
in Budapest on June 11, 2014.
Al Habtoor said, “My book is an
education roadmap for all ages, it has
turbulence… happiness, sadness and
it is comical as well.”
The Chairman is a well-known figure in
Budapest after visiting the city many
times and purchasing the famous Le
Méridien Budapest in 2011 and the
InterContinental Hotel on the banks of
the River Danube shortly after the book
launch in June.
