Khalaf Al Habtoor speaks to an audience of politicians, policymakers, businessmen and other influencers at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade

Center in Washington DC

In his speech entitled, ‘Call for Action’,

Khalaf Al Habtoor tackled key issues

facing the Middle East including

concerns over US-Iran relations and the

escalating crises in Syria and Yemen, as

well as the rising role of the GCC on the

global stage. The two-day event, which

ran from 14-15 October, took place in

the Atrium Hall of the Ronald Reagan

Building and International Trade Center

in Washington DC.

The Chairman highlighted that the GCC

is at a turning point and becoming a

vital resource for global stability. On

the topics of Syria and Iraq, Al Habtoor

described the tragic flow of refugees as

a tsunami of desperate people, calling

Bashar al-Assad to face the International

Criminal Court, and not be given any

easy exile.

He expressed his great interest in the

ongoing U.S. presidential race, as he

rightly believes that America’s choice of

president and his policies will affect the

whole world.
