INTRODUCTION The Al Habtoor Group Employee Excellence Awards (EEA) was established in 2007 under the directive of Founding Chairman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor who recognized the need to reward outstanding achievement. Chairman Al Habtoor understands the importance of nurturing talent and recognizing high performers as not only a key to success but also to attract, motivate and retain employees. The Al Habtoor Group firmly believes that recognition is an essential building block of a great workplace. A big part of the Al Habtoor Group’s success comes down to the dedication and commitment of the employees, and it is important to single out the strongest performers that display high potential, irrelevant of their role within the Group. As the Chairman says, “People are the Group’s most valued asset.” The EEA programme is eligible to all Al Habtoor Group full-time employees [Habtoorians] across all units; Habtoor Hospitality, Al Habtoor Motors, Emirates International Schools, Diamondlease, Al Habtoor Real Estate and Al Habtoor Group headquarter. The annual event sees the Chairman award each winner in person. There are six award categories in the EEA programme: 1. Chairman’s Award 2. Centre of Excellence Award 3. Departmental Award 4. Milestone Award 5. Individual Excellence Award 6. CSR Award The Awards are distributed at a ceremony held in the first quarter of every calendar year. The event is attended by the senior management and employees of the Group, and is broadcasted live on the Al Habtoor Group’s social media channels. SELECTION PROCESS Nominees are selected across the units via a comprehensive structure which takes into account the nominees’ professionalism, positivity, loyalty, motivation, leadership and outstanding performance. 4
