CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE AWARD The ‘Centre of Excellence Award’ was previously known as the Business Unit Award. It was renamed ‘Centre of Excellence Award’ in 2019, to respect the variety of units competing in this award category in terms of the financial and non-financial goals. AWARD OBJECTIVE The objective of the Centre of Excellence Award is to motivate the business units to: • Showcase ‘business excellence’. • Encourage businesses to think positively irrelevant of the economic climate at the time. • Create an environment that nurtures an entrepreneurial spirit and sustains excellent standards of corporate management and governance. AWARD CRITERIA This award will go to the outstanding business unit that best demonstrates: • Financial returns • Solid strong growth • Innovative strategies • Market leadership in its sector The focus will be on provided evidence of inventiveness, ethical credentials, good stakeholder relationships and long-term planning balanced by the flexibility to deliver consistent results in dynamic market conditions for the last calendar year. 26
