In May 2012
Khalaf Al Habtoor
launched a personal social media
strategy – opening his own Facebook
page and Twitter account.
Just four months on and already he
has over nearly 6,000 followers – an
extremely high number in comparison to
others of his status.
It’s a strategy which he believes is
important because although still in its
infancy, it is the way forward.
“I appreciate the invention of social media
sites as they have undoubtedly helped
to bridge the gap between different
cultures and allowed people to express
their opinions and feelings openly,” he
said adding that he uses such sites to
put across his own personal views on
society and politics, as well as presenting
the right image of the Arab World and
Islam abroad.
