The Corporate Social Responsibility Award (CSR Award) was introduced to the EEA programme in 2014, to recognize and encourage responsible behaviour towards the community, the environment, the less fortunate, etc. AWARD OBJECTIVE The CSR Award recognizes initiatives and strategies that demonstrate a commitment to corporate social responsibility principles such as: • Initiatives to address a specific need identified in the local community. • Programmes or practices demonstrating the commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility of a business unit. • Creative initiatives in which a large impact is made with a small investment. • Long-term projects intended to be continuously supported by the Al Habtoor Group and the business unit. • Initiatives introduced by the management of the business unit to educate and motivate employees towards better CSR behaviour. • The CSR Award excludes sponsorships by a business unit which are classified as CSR, and in cases where the effort is largely a financial contribution. • If a business unit’s mission is primarily philanthropic work, that unit is not eligible for the CSR Award. However, employees of that unit can be nominated on the merit of their personal initiatives when available. CSR AWARD 40
